The Friday Rock Block - Too Much Rock For One Headline
![]() There's lots of special goodness in this week's rock block. We have Brakes, The Dirty Pretty Things, The Eagles of Death Metal, Mclusky, and a classic track covered by Thee Headcoatees. I'm going to start with set with Brakes and "Ring a Ding." It's the first track off of the debut cd, Give Blood, which was released last fall. It also makes a great first track for a rock block. Second in the mix is The Dirty Pretty Things. This is a band that features a former member of The Libertines. Unlike Pete Doherty, Carl Barat does a fine job of staying out of the tabloid headlines and making music. I should add, yes, I do f**cking love this song. This one just kicked me in the rear and woke me up during a slow morning today and it's perfect for a block of rock. It's true. I also mentioned how I would love an mp3 of this tune. Funny thing happened, it was already on my hard drive.
