Backyard Tire Fire

Sometimes, there's nothin' better to my ears than some good old fashioned blues based rock and roll. You know, it's like some days, you're at the bar and you drink British imports, other days, you want something that's an American working-class brew, like Stroh's.

Indie rock is pretty cool, and I'll do the experimental and avant garde sh*t. I'll rock the new wave, no wave, and your punk rock, post punk, and post punk rock, but every once in a while, man, lay down some riffs, howl you're heart out, and you've got me hooked.

In comes, Backyard Tire Fire, a working man's bluesy rock band out of Chicago, Illinois, and their six song ep, Skin and Bones, a soundtrack for bar fights, late nights, and days spent alone with ash trays and empty bottles. Skin and Bones consists of two songs that'll be on their full length due out this January, two exclusive tracks, and two live cuts. The title track, "Skin and Bones" is what I like to refer to as a howler -- rock and roll that's deep, dirty, and fills your soul.

The Skin and Bones ep is available now from e-tailers like iTunes and eMusic, and directly from the band while they're out on tour. Backyard Tire Fire will be in Cleveland this Friday night at The House of Blues along with The Notrth Mississippi All-Stars.
