Double Shot of Cleveland Rock From Boatzz and The New Lou Reeds

Boatzz

Boatzz are a band that have been around these parts in the past. They're a great bunch of guys who also happen to be in one of the better rock bands in town. This month they'll be out on their first European tour taking in the sights and delicacies of the Netherlands. They also have recently released a new e.p. titled Uzi. The official release party was last week, and if I wasn't out in Louisville gawking at every Maude Lebowski look-a-like, I would have been there.

An mp3 isn't good as an ep, or a rock show, but that's all I've got. "Coalmine" is a tune of that new Ep. It's one that I'm really diggin right about now. If you're familiar with the Boatzz sound, it's a little more rockin than their usual fare. Not familiar? Boatzz can best be described as rock and soul with a little of that punk and new wave flavor sprinkled about.

Rock It.

The New Lou Reeds

Next up, is another band from the Cleveland area, The New Lou Reeds. They also have recently dropped some new tunes, their newest album, Top Billin', was just released on Exit Stencil Recordings.

I have to say, if you're in the mood for some good old Midwestern rock and roll, then pop this tune, "Looking For A Boogaloo" in your sound system. Take some garage rock howling and add that Midwesteren muscle, and you're got one fine piece of rock.
