Moving Pictures: "Bell" by Screaming Females
Seeing as though Marnie Stern still won't return any of my calls, texts, and emails, and all of those lovely fruit baskets I've sent to her have come back return to sender, I figure it's about time I turn my attention to another shredding female: Marissa Paternoster of the New Jersey band, Screaming Females. And man, can Marissa shred. Just wait 'til the minute mark of this video for "Bell," and you'll see what I mean. That's when Paternoster moves from a bruising, low-end, rumbling guitar riff to an acrobatic, almost J Mascis like, scorching solo. It's like falling in love all over again. VIDEO: Screaming Females - Bell MP3: Screaming Females - Bell Power Move, the latest full length by Screaming Females, will be out April 14th on Don Giovanni Records.
